I had the unfortunate experience a couple weeks ago to listen to Representative Don Young call in to the Rick Rydell radio show on KENI. While most of the conversation was expected, one of his comments really got my attention. Young promised that the House of Representatives would not be shutting down the government.

Young Alaskans voting for the minimum wage act a lot like chickens voting for Colonel Sanders, as they are going to get a most unpleasant surprise in the days, weeks, months and years to follow their vote in support of this initiative.

Why would a national, very well-funded union-backed outfit based in Washington DC calling itself Working America be advertising campaign jobs to “Fight to raise the minimum wage” here in Anchorage? I found out about this one via a glossy color printed insert in the printed Alaska Dispatch News a few weeks ago.

Just in time to turn out Bush Alaska in large numbers to vote for Mark Begich and Byron Mallott, the Obama regime’s Department of the Interior is considering seizing parcels of tribal land across Alaska, putting it into federal trust, and turning those lands and residents into Indian Country – essentially reservations.

Last Friday, I made some disparaging remarks about Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul’s record and the phone lit up like a Christmas tree with outraged Ron Paul supporters – Paulians.

One of the things I get to do is sit in with Glen Biegel on his radio show Friday afternoons. We chat about state and national politics on KBYR 700 from 5 -6:00 PM weekly.
