I had the unfortunate experience a couple weeks ago to listen to Representative Don Young call in to the Rick Rydell radio show on KENI. While most of the conversation was expected, one of his comments really got my attention. Young promised that the House of Representatives would not be shutting down the government.

Our unique constitution divides power between states and a federal government. This division originally left most power with the states, but permitted the new United States to handle those things that could not be managed by the individual states. In today’s column, we attempt to hold them accountable.

Promises for the future?

Recently the Anchorage Daily News published several letters-to-the-editor and Compass articles concerning human-caused global warming.
